BIOGRAPHY

Future sex symbol Emmanuelle Chriqui kicked things off in the culturally-diverse city of Montreal. With a Moroccan and Jewish background, her own diversity would’ve been a natural fit, but she and her family went to Toronto after two years. It was here that she began acting on stage at 7, and in an effort to pursue her acting dream, she pleaded with her parents to let her take acting classes. Citing financial difficulties, they were unable to accommodate her, but Emmanuelle Chriqui’s older brother footed the bill himself and, at age 10, she landed her first TV gig when she let a cheeseburger dance on her shirt for a McDonald’s commercial. This reinforced her dream of being famous, and soon she would be chasing her personal idols like Madonna, Olivia Newton-John and even her favorite Canadian celebrity, Corey Hart.

After graduating from Unionville High School, she moved to Vancouver where she waited tables and chased acting roles in Hollywood North. The bulk of her work during this period came through television guest spots on shows like Forever Knight and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, but in 1999, she won a featured role in the KISS-influenced rock comedy Detroit Rock City. The family-friendly Snow Day was her successful follow-up and after starring with a pre-ER Katherine Heigl in 100 Girls, Emmanuelle Chriqui was poised for her next big break.

EMMANUELLE CHRIQUI STARS ON WRONG TURN ANDENTOURAGE

In 2001, Emmanuelle Chriqui was cast in Steven Spielberg’s robot opus, Artificial Intelligence: A.I., and Todd Solondz’s Storytelling, but in both cases, her scenes were deleted. She had to settle for Lance Bass instead by playing his love interest in the poorly-received romance On the Line. She recovered her confidence somewhat by running from crazies with Eliza Dushku in the 2003 horror film, Wrong Turn, and returning to television in 2005 for three wildly different projects. First, she appeared on the The O.C.for a multi-episode stint before signing onboard the unique George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh-produced Unscripted where she played herself alongside other “real” actors and a handful of fictional characters.
Following her first two TV projects in 2005, Emmanuelle Chriqui landed what would be her most popular television role as Sloan McQuewick, the sultry on-screen companion of Eric Murphy, onEntourage. Her role on the series would grow with age with the highlight for many male viewers being an on-screen threesome that featured Emmanuelle Chriqui with fellow Canadian cutie Malin Akerman(check out our recent Malin Akerman Interview). At the same time, Emmanuelle continued to foster her film career by taking supporting roles alongside Usher in In the Mix and Ryan Reynolds in the crude restaurant comedy, Waiting….

EMMANUELLE CHRIQUI STARS IN YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN AND CADILLAC RECORDS

While she continued her Entourage stint and added a guest spot on Robot Chicken to her 2008 portfolio, Emmanuelle Chriqui also enjoyed her highest-profile film role as Dahlia, the woman who gets the attention of Israeli soldier-turned-hair stylist Adam Sandler in the comedy hit, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan. The following year, she would play Evetta Chess in Cadillac Records, which was top-lined byBeyonce and Adrien Brody.
After starting 2010 at the forefront of our Top 99 Women list, Emmanuelle Chriqui pursued additional opportunities in the film world with a number of interesting roles. She joined indie stalwartSteve Buscemi and edgy comedienne Sarah Silverman to play an injured stripper named Tasty D. Lite in Saint John of Las Vegas before moving on to the crime thriller 13, with Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham, and the fact-based drama Georgia, starring Val Kilmer.
